Baffles are flow control devices which increase the
retention time in water treatment facilities, Oxidation Ponds, Clarifying,
Water Cooling, Clear Wells, Reservoirs, Wastewater Treatment Plants
and Potable Water applications.
Wall Baffle Systems
For use in Wastewater Treatment Plants where settling
time needs to be increased to reduce the Total Suspended Solids
(TSS) to improve overall water quality. Multiple uses in clarifying,
clear wells, and potable water applications. These baffles would
be secured to the wall and may or may not require a floatation device.
Floating Baffle Systems
Designed and manufactured since 1969 Floating Baffles
are flow control devices which increase the retention time in water
treatment lagoons. Increased retention time creates a larger active
area improving efficiency and reducing the Total Suspended Solids
(TSS). This improves overall water quality and assists in industry
compliance with state and federal regulations for discharge and
treatment of industrial wastewater.

Each baffle system is custom fabricated for each location ensuring
ease of installation and superior performance. Elastec/American
Marine floating baffle systems incorporate the best components for
specific lagoon conditions. Some commonly used fabrics are Seaman
Corp. manufactured XR-5, style 6730 and 8130, urethane and PVC’s
to name a few. Baffle components are selected for their corrosive
resistant properties, ability to withstand ultraviolet radiation
(UV), chemical resistance, hydrodynamic conditions and other design
criteria. Our state of the art manufacturing plant is capable of
building one piece baffle sections up to 2500 feet (762 meters),
which reduces onsite assembly to zero.
